Since becoming the Member for Blaxland in 2007, Jason Clare has been working hard to get results for the people of Blaxland. Here are just a few:

Bankstown Airport expansion stopped

Jason campaigned against the extension of the runway to accommodate larger aircraft. The Rudd Government listened and ruled out the expansion of Bankstown Airport.

Australian Hearing Centre - Back in Bankstown

Jason successfully campaigned for the restoration of the Australian Hearing Centre in Bankstown.

Delivering more than 2,700 new computers to local schools

15 local high schools have been given over $2.7 million for 2,710 new computers as part of the Rudd Government's $1.2 billion Digital Education Revolution.

Funding secured for a new 240 space multi storey car park in Cabramatta. This is a big win for commuters, shoppers and local businesses.

Obtained $3.15 million for a new Bankstown Arts Centre

In May the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd came to Bankstown to announce a multi-million dollar redevelopment of the Bankstown Arts Centre.

Bankstown has been hit hard by the global recession. That's why Jason organised the Bankstown Jobs Expo. It brought employers and job seekers together under one roof. As a result 400 local people walked away with a job.

$114 million to upgrade our 54 local schools

As part of the Rudd Government's Nation Building and Jobs Plan our 54 local schools will get $114 million to build new multipurpose halls, libraries and classrooms.

Building bridges between communities - Kokoda Mateship Trek

In April 2009, Jason and Liberal MP Scott Morrison led a group of young people from Bankstown and Cronulla on a life-changing journey along the Kokoda Track.

Housing Stress Forums - to help people struggling to pay their mortgage

Jason has worked hard to rid Blaxland of its title as the mortgage stress capital of Australia. He organised public forums providing free and practical financial advice, and also developed a Debt Relief information kit.
