Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP provided $7,500 in funding for the Bankstown City Netball Association for five two-tier grandstands and seven new benches at Deverall Park.
This provides much needed seats for the mums and dads, and grandmothers and grandfathers who come to Deverall Park on week nights and every weekend to cheer on their children playing netball.
It will also help the Bankstown City Netball Association in their application to hold the NSW State Age Competition in 2019, which would require them to host 3000 players and support staff for a three day carnival.
This funding comes from Jason Clare’s Blaxland Stronger Communities Programme. The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants, between $5,000 and
$20,000, to not-for-profit organisations for small capital works projects that improve our local community.
This year the Blaxland Consultation Committee approved 15 projects, with $149,925 worth of grants contributed to works expected to begin early next year.
Over the past three years, the Blaxland Consultation Committee has approved a total of 37 projects, with $438,925 worth of grants being contributed to projects of local community groups.
