A little less conversation a little more action on trade please Malcolm

Malcolm Turnbull talks a big game on trade but has failed to deliver any new trade agreements to open up markets for Australian goods and services and create real jobs.

Labor delivered three free trade agreements when we were last in Government.

Tony Abbott delivered three free trade agreements in his time as Prime Minister.

Malcolm Turnbull’s record – zero.

Trade is critical for Australia and Labor has strong record of delivering on trade in government. From the tariff cuts of Whitlam, Hawke and Keating to the free trade agreements signed when we were last in government.

Malcolm Turnbull talks a lot about trade but he has not delivered a single deal that will create one job.

He promised a free trade deal with India would be signed in 2015. It’s now 2017 and we’re still waiting.

We are also still waiting on a free trade agreement with Indonesia.

If Malcolm Turnbull’s lectures created jobs we would have zero unemployment. Unfortunately, they don’t.

Labor wants to see good quality trade agreements that benefits Australian workers, industry, farmers and consumers.

It’s time for Malcolm Turnbull to stop lecturing and get on with it.
