Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP on Thursday visited Bass High School to announce a $3,881 Federal Government Volunteer Grant for the school’s P&C.
Mr Clare said: “This money will be used to help the P&C’s volunteers in maintaining their community gardens.
“The Volunteer Grants Program is a great way to support our local volunteers like the parents at Bass High School who give up their time to help the school community.”
Bass High P&C President Carol Tomkinson said: “We’re so happy to be able to use this money to continue improving our community gardens for everyone to use, including our community cafe. Every little bit helps.”
Grants between $1,000 and $5,000 are being awarded to local groups.
This year, thirty-five organisations in our local area each received a share of $145,605 in funding to support the fantastic work these organisations do for our community.
