Welcoming the Babies 2019

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, officially welcomed over 70 babies into our local community at a special ceremony held at Bass Hill Plaza on Saturday.

More than 200 people attended the 12th “Welcoming the Babies” event to celebrate new births in our local community and say thanks to all the mums and dads for the important work they do.

On the day mums and dads received a special certificate and a gift bag which contained useful samples and information about raising babies and toddlers.

"Raising a child is hard work. It's important that parents know about all the great support services available in our local community which can help with their babies health and development,” Mr Clare said.

“It was great to see so many people at the event on Saturday morning; our youngest to be welcomed was Sarah Safwan, born just three weeks ago.”

WSS Dance Studio entertained the crowd with a number of dazzling dance performances and Peppa Pig also made a special guest appearance on the day.

Some of the organisations that contributed to the success of the day included:

- Bass Hill Plaza

- Bounty

- City of Canterbury Bankstown

- Baby Bunting

- Anytime Fitness Bass Hill

- BabyU

- Milton
